Onesquethaw EMS with an Albany County Paramedic were dispatched for a female patient who fell in the Five Rivers Preserve on 02/15/2021 at 1200 hours. While our ambulance 25-85 was responding, Albany County 911 dispatchers advised units that the patient was on the Red Trail and was possibly 25 mins into the preserve by hiking. Our Fire of the department was activated to respond rescue engine 25-23. 25-02 responding, requested Delmar Fire and Slingerlands Fire to the scene with their UTV's and patient skids. A command post was established at Goose Lane. A Delmar Fire UTV with a Slingerlands Fire rescue skid made access to the patient with paramedic 55-93. The patient had a possible fracture and was suffering from mild cold exposure upon arrival. The patient was packaged and extricated out of the preserve to our awaiting 25-85 ambulance. The patient was transported BLS to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. We would like to thank the assistance of our two close mutual aid partners that made this rescue run as smoothly as possible.
